The strong Republican lean of Louisiana's 4th congressional district, combined with incumbent Mike Johnson's consistent dominance in prior cycles, underpins the elevated trader consensus for an outright first-round victory on the November 3, 2026 jungle primary ballot. Johnson captured 85.8% against a single opponent in 2024, and early 2026 candidate filings show limited opposition in a seat rated safely Republican by forecasting outlets. Recent map redraws following the Supreme Court decision in Louisiana v. Callais and the shift to an all-party November primary have not altered the underlying partisan composition or Johnson's established path to a majority. Traders price in the low likelihood of a fragmented field or surprise challenger reaching the 50% threshold needed to avoid a December runoff.
