Raphaël Glucksmann leads trader pricing for the October 9-10 first round of the closed Socialist primary as the Place publique co-president with strongest national polling among social-democratic contenders and backing from prominent PS figures. Olivier Faure’s late entry as party first secretary has introduced direct competition, while declared candidates including Philippe Brun, Jérôme Guedj, Ségolène Royal, and Emmanuel Maurel remain lower-profile challengers. Recent insistence by Glucksmann on adhering to member-approved rules—rejecting expansion to additional voices—has reinforced perceptions of procedural stability favoring his position. The electronic two-round format and September declaration window sustain uncertainty, with trader consensus reflecting Glucksmann’s edge but acknowledging how internal turnout and last-minute alignments could narrow or widen the gap before voting.
