Fuerza Popular (FP) commands 99.5% trader consensus as the Peru Senate election winner after securing 22 of 60 seats in the April 12-13, 2026 general elections, marking the return to bicameralism with the new upper chamber. Official ONPE tallies, finalized in late April amid minor voting extensions, confirmed FP's plurality lead—well ahead of Juntos por el Perú's 14 seats—driven by strong national and regional list performances aligned with Keiko Fujimori's presidential first-round edge. No party reached a majority, positioning FP to influence veto powers and legislation. While results are certified by the JNE, rare scenarios like successful legal challenges or recounts could theoretically shift the outcome ahead of the June 7 presidential runoff.
