The fragmented field of over a dozen confirmed Senate candidates for Goiás in the 2026 elections keeps the contest for first place tightly matched, with trader consensus reflected in probabilities clustered around 20-34% for frontrunners. Recent candidate conventions in early August, combined with July and August polling from sources like Genial/Quaest and Goiás Pesquisas, show Gracinha Caiado (União Brasil) holding a modest edge in some surveys while Gustavo Gayer (PL), Vanderlan Cardoso (PSD), Dr. Zacharias Calil (MDB), and Gustavo Mendanha (PRD) trade positions in the single digits to low teens, driven by limited name recognition and regional voter bases. No dominant coalition or late surge has consolidated support, and the two-seat structure plus undecided voters sustain uncertainty. Upcoming debates or party alliances could shift momentum by clarifying second preferences before October voting.
