Vladislav Khovalyg maintains a commanding lead in the Tuva head election market at 96% because the incumbent United Russia nominee secured President Putin's explicit endorsement in May 2026 and won his first term in 2021 with more than 86% of the vote. Russian regional contests favor sitting heads backed by the ruling party's administrative resources, municipal signature thresholds, and parliamentary majorities in the Great Khural. Five other candidates from CPRF, LDPR, A Just Russia, and New People have registered, yet they operate with limited visibility and funding. Late developments that could shift odds include verified health issues affecting Khovalyg, unusually high turnout favoring opposition parties, or procedural disputes during the September 18–20 voting window that trigger recounts or court challenges.
