Forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models indicate a high near 89–91°F for Atlanta on September 20, driven by an unseasonably strong mid-level ridge maintaining warm southerly flow and above-normal temperatures roughly 7–9°F above the 82°F climatological average. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms, with 30–40% coverage, introduce the main uncertainty: earlier or more widespread convection could enhance cloud cover and evaporative cooling to favor an 88–89°F peak, while delayed or isolated activity would support 90–91°F. Dew points in the low 70s and light easterly winds limit mixing, keeping conditions humid but with modest storm intensity. Updated model runs and NWS briefings through the morning will refine timing and coverage ahead of market resolution.
