The National Weather Service's official climatological summary for San Francisco Airport recorded a maximum temperature of 64°F on September 20, 2026, observed at 3:47 PM local time—11°F below the 1991–2020 normal of 75°F. Persistent marine layer influence, fog, and haze suppressed daytime heating under typical September coastal conditions, aligning with the market's 100% implied probability for the 64–65°F bin. This outcome sits well below historical September highs and recent years' warmer readings. Minor revisions to station data or use of alternative downtown measurements remain theoretically possible but unlikely to alter resolution given the authoritative NWS verification.
