Persistent rain and overcast skies from a coastal low-pressure system are capping New York City highs near 69–70°F on September 20, aligning with the market’s leading 70–71°F outcome at 51.5% implied probability. Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and ensemble models show southeast winds, high humidity, and widespread showers suppressing daytime warming well below the 74.8°F September average. Cooler air advection and cloud cover limit solar heating, while historical analogs for similar late-September setups rarely exceed 72°F. Updated model runs through the morning maintain this range, with minimal upward revisions expected before resolution.
