Official forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate a high near 86°F for Miami today, with mostly cloudy skies, light variable winds shifting south, and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms developing by afternoon. These conditions, typical for late September in South Florida, limit surface heating through reduced solar insolation and evaporative cooling from precipitation, keeping maximum temperatures from reaching the upper 80s or low 90s despite seasonal averages near 86–88°F. Recent model runs and current observations of high humidity and scattered convection reinforce this range, positioning 86–89°F as the market-implied consensus while allowing modest upside if storms remain isolated.
