Singapore’s Meteorological Service Singapore and National Environment Agency forecast a daily maximum of 33–34°C for September 21, with afternoon thundery showers expected to develop under prevailing southwest monsoon conditions. These showers, typical for the second half of the month, increase cloud cover and evaporative cooling that historically cap afternoon peaks near the lower end of the seasonal range. Real-time observations from Changi Airport and other stations have hovered in the low 30s Celsius through midday, consistent with model consensus. The market’s overwhelming 99.8% implied probability for exactly 33°C reflects this strong alignment between official guidance and current atmospheric conditions. Only sustained clear skies or delayed convection could realistically allow a brief spike to 34°C before resolution.
