Short-term National Weather Service and model guidance for Dallas on September 20 point to a warm late-summer air mass with afternoon highs most likely peaking in the upper 90s, driving the close contest between the 98-99°F and 96-97°F bins. Key differentiating factors include forecast uncertainty around boundary-layer moisture, daytime cloud cover, and any weak frontal passage that could trim peak temperatures by a degree or two, or conversely allow stronger insolation to push readings toward 100°F. Ensemble spreads from NOAA models remain modest this close to the event, consistent with trader consensus clustering tightly around those two outcomes while assigning only single-digit implied probability to 100°F-plus or sub-96°F results. Updated model runs and official NWS forecasts tonight and tomorrow morning will provide the next clear signals for position adjustments.
