In the crowded field for Mato Grosso's two Senate seats in the October 2026 election, a fragmented candidate list spanning multiple parties has kept early trader pricing tight among leading names. Ex-governor Mauro Mendes (União) holds a polling edge after resigning his state post to run, while Agriculture Minister Carlos Fávaro (PSD), José Medeiros (PL), Janaina Riva (MDB), Pedro Taques (PSB), and others draw support from agribusiness, regional bases, and national alignments. With voters selecting two senators and no single dominant frontrunner, vote splitting sustains uncertainty. Upcoming conventions, coalition deals, and final polling waves could consolidate support or shift momentum before ballots close.
