Chou Chun-mi holds a dominant position in the Pingtung County magistrate race as the Democratic Progressive Party incumbent seeking re-election on November 28, 2026. Traders assign her an 87% implied probability largely because she defeated the same Kuomintang challenger, Su Ching-chuan, by a narrow margin in 2022 and secured her party's nomination early. Su, positioned at 13%, benefits from name recognition in the rematch but faces structural headwinds as the opposition candidate in a county where the DPP has maintained control. The large field of additional listed candidates reflects market structure rather than viable alternatives, with no recent polling shifts, scandals, or policy developments reported that would materially alter the current consensus. The November timeline leaves room for late campaign developments typical in Taiwan's local contests.
