Recent supply expansion following the 2025 avian flu recovery has driven U.S. retail egg prices lower, with the BLS Grade A large dozen averaging $2.19 in July 2026 after peaking above $6 in early 2025. Increased layer inventories and wholesale prices near $0.62 have created surplus conditions, pressuring margins for producers while supporting consumer-level stability around $2.10–$2.20. Market-implied odds reflect this trajectory, with the leading $2.10–$2.20 bucket at 32.5% and the next two bins closely contested at 24.5% and 20.0%, underscoring uncertainty over August seasonal demand, feed cost volatility, and potential late-month inventory swings. Traders are weighting the USDA’s $2.16 full-year forecast against current momentum.
