Recent retail egg prices have stabilized near $2.19 per dozen in July 2026, down sharply from 2025 peaks above $6 amid HPAI-driven flock losses, as USDA data show production rebounding with fewer early-2026 outbreaks and adequate pullet supplies supporting expanded layer inventories. This supply normalization, combined with softer consumer demand and steady feed costs, exerts downward pressure on prices while creating volatility around monthly averages. Trader consensus reflected in the closely matched $2.10–$2.40 outcomes captures uncertainty over August's final BLS figure, with key swing factors including any late-month HPAI detections, import volumes, or seasonal demand shifts that could tilt resolution within the narrow bands.

Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month.
