The Bahia Senate race for the two available seats features a tight contest for second place, driven by polling that places PT candidates Rui Costa and Jaques Wagner at the top while a fragmented field of opposition contenders—including João Roma (PL), Angelo Coronel (Republicanos), Marcelo Santtana, and others—split remaining support. Recent July and August 2026 surveys show high undecided and blank/null shares around 20-24 percent, alongside technical ties among lower-polling names that keep second-place positioning fluid. Party conventions finalized major tickets in late July, aligning right-leaning forces behind Roma and Coronel, yet no single challenger has consolidated enough backing to pull clear. Trader pricing reflects this ongoing uncertainty, with potential separation likely to emerge from subsequent statewide polls, turnout patterns in key regions, or late campaign shifts in voter preferences.
