Recent polling averages show the Parti Québécois holding a modest lead in popular vote at around 30 percent, ahead of the Liberals near 26 percent and the CAQ near 20 percent, with roughly half of voters still undecided seven weeks before the October 5, 2026, vote. The PQ’s stronger position among francophone voters underpins seat projections that give it the clearest path to a majority in the National Assembly. Trader consensus favoring the PQ at 70 percent reflects the CAQ’s sharp decline following François Legault’s January 2026 resignation and the subsequent leadership transition to Christine Fréchette, which has yet to reverse the governing party’s weak standing. The PLQ remains competitive in urban areas but trails in francophone regions that determine most seats, while smaller parties such as QS and the Conservatives register negligible shares. High undecided rates and the short campaign window leave room for late shifts ahead of election day.
