This pattern aligns with mid-May climatology, where average highs reach 74°F at downtown and airport stations, but lacks the offshore winds or upper-level ridging needed for readings in the mid-70s or above. Latest model runs show only modest day-to-day variability, keeping the most probable outcomes centered on the low 70s while assigning lower probability to warmer scenarios. Traders appear to be weighting the marine influence and historical analogs, producing tight clustering around 70–73°F with limited upside priced in as the event window nears.
