In the Saint-François riding, projections from late August 2026 show a close contest among Parti Québécois candidate Sylvie Tanguay, Liberal Jacqueline Belleau, incumbent Coalition Avenir Québec MNA Geneviève Hébert, and Québec solidaire's Mia Fréchette, with no party holding a clear edge in popular vote estimates. The October 5 general election follows the August 27 dissolution, amid province-wide shifts away from the CAQ after leadership changes and voter concerns over U.S. trade pressures that have elevated economic issues above sovereignty debates. Candidate nominations concluded in mid-September, leaving limited time for late developments such as targeted local campaigning, party leader visits, or polling updates in this Estrie riding to create separation among the contenders. Trader consensus reflects this uncertainty in the multi-candidate market.
