Marine air advection from the Pacific and Puget Sound, combined with light northwesterly winds and patchy cloud cover, are the dominant factors moderating overnight radiational cooling in Seattle on September 15. Official National Weather Service guidance and model consensus point to a low near 52–54°F under mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions following scattered morning showers, consistent with early-fall climatology where average minima hover around 53°F. Trader emphasis on the 45°F-or-below bin reflects potential for localized cooling if skies clear earlier than expected, while mid-50s outcomes capture the baseline forecast range; any shift in wind or additional marine stratus could alter the minimum before official Sea-Tac observations finalize the market.
