A weak high-pressure ridge over central Europe favors modest daytime warming under partly cloudy skies, while variable low-level moisture and light northwesterly flow introduce a roughly 2 °C uncertainty band. Climatological normals for mid-May sit at 17–18 °C, so any slight strengthening of the ridge or reduced cloud cover could push readings to 20 °C, whereas a modest Atlantic front arriving earlier than modeled would cap the peak at 18 °C. Updated model runs expected this evening will refine the 0–10 m temperature advection and boundary-layer mixing that ultimately determine the official DWD station reading.
