Sweden's September 13 parliamentary election produced an exceptionally tight outcome between the center-left opposition bloc (Social Democrats, Left Party, Centre Party, Greens) and the incumbent right-wing Tidö alliance (Moderates, Sweden Democrats, Christian Democrats, Liberals). With most votes counted, the opposition holds a narrow 176-173 seat edge in the 349-seat Riksdag, separated by roughly 30,000 ballots. Remaining advance, postal, and overseas votes are being tallied, with final results expected imminently. The Sweden Democrats posted their first decline in support, while coalition negotiations will determine the next government even after seats are finalized. Traders are monitoring the last ballots and potential cross-bloc deals involving smaller parties.

Each market will resolve to "Yes" if the specified party receives at least one seat in the Swedish Riksdag as a result of the 2026 Swedish parliamentary elections. Otherwise that market will resolve to "No".
Seats will be counted only where they are attributed to the specified party. Seats attributed to another party or electoral designation will not count, regardless of electoral cooperation, endorsements, coalition agreements, or subsequent parliamentary-group arrangements. If the specified party formally merges into a successor party before the election and does not contest separately, seats officially attributed to that successor party will count.
If the results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, each market will resolve to "No".
Each market's resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the specified party in this election.
This market will resolve based on the results of this election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Swedish government, specifically the Swedish Election Authority (Valmyndigheten) (https://www.val.se/).
