Traders view Flávio Bolsonaro as the leading contender for second place in the first round of Brazil’s 2026 presidential election, reflecting his established Senate profile and broad appeal among conservative voters who previously supported his father Jair Bolsonaro. With Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva positioned to top the ballot, the race for runner-up has narrowed to figures who can consolidate center-right support across multiple states. Recent party alignments and regional polling have strengthened Flávio’s standing relative to other opposition names such as Romeu Zema and Michelle Bolsonaro, whose support remains more localized. Scheduled party conventions and candidate registrations in the coming months will provide further clarity on vote consolidation ahead of the October contest.
