Recent polls for Berlin's September 20, 2026, state election show the CDU hovering at 18-20% after incumbent mayor Kai Wegner's July withdrawal amid criticism over crisis communications during a January power outage, with Stefan Evers as the new lead candidate. The Left has surged to 19-22% in several surveys, while AfD and Greens sit close behind at 16-19%, creating a fragmented field where small vote swings alter seat allocations under proportional rules. This volatility, combined with uncertain coalition math and limited recent momentum for any single party, sustains tight trader pricing between the 25-29 and 30-34 seat brackets as the primary outcomes.
