Recent readings around 54.0–54.1 underscore resilient U.S. services expansion, with business activity and new orders indexes remaining firmly above 55 in July while price pressures stayed elevated near 70. Market-implied odds cluster tightly between 53.0–55.9, reflecting expectations of modest cooling after July’s event-driven lift from the World Cup and independence celebrations, alongside mixed employment signals and easing but still-notable input costs. Broader economic context, including strong July manufacturing PMI at 55.6 and stabilizing supply chains, supports the narrow trading range ahead of the September 3 release.
