Recent polling aggregates show the Parti Québécois leading in popular vote while the Coalition Avenir Québec trails but remains competitive in francophone regions outside Montreal, producing a narrow range of plausible seat outcomes for the CAQ on October 5. The new electoral map and concentration of tight PQ-CAQ contests in key ridings amplify volatility in seat totals. A recent CAQ-commissioned survey indicated some momentum for leader Christine Fréchette, yet independent trackers project the CAQ near the low-to-mid 20s on average. The first leaders’ debate centered on critiques of the incumbent record, with opposition attacks on spending and services potentially influencing undecided voters in battleground areas. These factors sustain the close distribution across the 20–29 seat bands in trader assessments.
