This market will resolve to the bracket within which the price for "Eggs, Grade A, Large (Cost per Dozen) in U.S. City Average" lies when the September data point is published by the St. Louis Fed (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000708111). The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The September release is presently scheduled for October 14, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.**Abundant domestic supply from expanded laying flocks and improved productivity has anchored retail egg prices near recent lows, driving trader consensus toward the $2.20–$2.30 range for the September BLS U.S. city average.** Wholesale benchmarks remain subdued at roughly 35–85 cents per dozen as of mid-September, reflecting a post-2025 oversupply environment where flock expansion outpaced demand recovery. August’s $2.27 average price marked a modest sequential rise from July but stayed well below year-ago levels, consistent with lighter avian-flu pressure and steady feed costs. Seasonal factors such as back-to-school and holiday baking could support a modest lift, yet elevated inventories and competitive retail features continue to cap upside. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around current realized levels, underscoring uncertainty over any late-month demand surge or further supply adjustments before the October release.
