Incumbent U.S. Representative Mike Thompson leads fundraising and endorsements in California's 4th Congressional District top-two primary scheduled for June 2, 2026, while Democratic challenger Eric Jones has drawn substantial tech-sector contributions and support from figures including Bernie Sanders. A crowded Republican field of six candidates plus one independent remains fragmented, limiting any single GOP contender's path to one of the two advance spots under the state's primary rules. Recent redistricting incorporated additional conservative-leaning counties such as Sutter and Yuba, modestly reducing the district's Democratic tilt from prior cycles, yet Thompson's long tenure and institutional backing continue to shape trader assessments of likely advancers ahead of the June ballot deadline.
