**Incumbent Steve Scalise’s entrenched position in the heavily Republican LA-01 district drives the 91.5% trader consensus that a candidate will secure an outright majority in Louisiana’s November 3, 2026 jungle primary.** The seat’s long-standing partisan lean, Scalise’s incumbency since 2008, fundraising edge, and endorsements as House Majority Leader make a first-round win the expected outcome under the state’s nonpartisan blanket primary rules. Challengers Lauren Jewett (D), Randall Arrington (R), and Liddy Glass (I) have not generated enough support to fragment the vote sufficiently for a runoff. Recent redistricting preserved the district’s core Republican tilt without introducing new competitive dynamics. Prediction markets and race ratings consistently treat the contest as non-competitive, with no reported scandals, health issues, or polling shifts since candidate qualifying that would alter this assessment. Historical patterns in similarly safe Louisiana districts reinforce the expectation of an outright primary result.
