Democratic incumbent Becca Balint holds a commanding lead in Vermont’s at-large House district due to the state’s consistent Democratic preference in federal elections since 1990, her own comfortable reelection margins exceeding 30 points in 2024, and July 2026 polling showing her ahead of Republican nominee Gerald Malloy by roughly 38 points. Primaries concluded August 11 with Balint unopposed in substance and Malloy securing the GOP nomination, while nonpartisan forecasters rate the contest Solid or Safe Democratic. Trader consensus reflected in the 94.5% Democratic price aligns with these structural factors and limited GOP infrastructure in the state. Late developments such as a major scandal, health event, or unanticipated national Republican surge remain the narrow paths that could alter the outcome before November 3.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
