Xavier Becerra holds an 82% implied probability of winning the Santa Clara County vote in California's June 2, 2026 top-two gubernatorial primary due to his strong performance among Democratic voters in the heavily Democratic Bay Area county. Vote tallies show Becerra leading with over 31% locally, ahead of Tom Steyer at 25% and Steve Hilton at 21%, consistent with his broader statewide edge built on prior service as state attorney general and U.S. health secretary plus unified party endorsements. Steyer's self-funded campaign has narrowed gaps elsewhere but trails in early Santa Clara results, while lower-polling candidates like Katie Porter and Tony Thurmond remain marginal. Ongoing ballot counting through mid-June continues to shape final county margins ahead of certification.
