Republican incumbent Jeff Crank enters the 2026 general election in Colorado's 5th Congressional District with structural advantages rooted in the seat's Republican-leaning partisan voting index and his 2024 victory margin. National Democrats have added the district to their target list for the first time, citing its leftward shift in recent presidential cycles and the growing unaffiliated voter bloc in the Colorado Springs area. Democratic primary contenders Jessica Killin and Joe Reagan have qualified for the June 30 ballot, with early polling showing a narrow contest once general election dynamics emerge. Primaries remain weeks away, leaving room for nominee strength and national midterm trends to influence the final outcome before November 3 voting.
