Persistent warm, humid conditions driven by a late-summer air mass and Gulf moisture are keeping overnight lows elevated near 78–80 °F across Houston, with recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and local models showing Monday’s minimum around that range. High dew points near 75–77 °F limit radiational cooling, while light winds and partial cloud cover from sea-breeze convection further suppress temperature drops. Historical September 7 averages near 74.5 °F highlight the current anomaly, yet the absence of an approaching cold front or stronger northerly flow maintains tight clustering of market-implied odds across the 72–85 °F bands. Minor variations in forecast cloud timing or convective outflow could shift the exact minimum by a degree or two before resolution.
