The Bahia Senate race for first place remains tightly contested due to competition between leading PT figures Rui Costa and Jaques Wagner, both seeking the state's two seats in the October 4, 2026, election. Recent polls show Rui Costa ahead in vote intention while Wagner trails closely, with opposition names such as Angelo Coronel and João Roma further back but still registering support. Party conventions, coalition alignments, and shifting voter turnout patterns in key regions continue to influence positioning. Trader consensus reflects this narrow margin, with any late polling shifts, candidate withdrawals, or campaign momentum changes likely to separate frontrunners before election day.
