Latest National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models project a high near 84°F for New York City on September 4 under mostly sunny skies and northwest flow following Thursday’s frontal passage. This places the central tendency squarely in the market’s leading 84-85°F bin while leaving room for modest upside or downside depending on exact cloud cover, boundary-layer mixing, and any residual moisture. September climatology shows typical highs around 80°F, so current conditions reflect above-average but not extreme warmth driven by post-frontal subsidence and seasonal solar angles. The spread across 82-87°F outcomes captures model-to-model differences in timing of peak heating and minor convective development, with traders weighting the most recent deterministic runs most heavily as resolution approaches.
