Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and private models indicate Atlanta highs on September 4 will reach the mid-90s under persistent high pressure, clear skies, and light southeasterly winds, with peak heating expected in the afternoon. Multiple sources project 94–96°F, consistent with the past two days’ observed maxima near or above 94°F and well above the early-September climatological average of about 86°F. The tight market split between 94–95°F and 96–97°F reflects minor model differences in boundary-layer mixing, dewpoint advection, and any isolated afternoon cloud development that could trim the peak by 1–2°F. Updated NWS guidance and evening model runs will provide the final inputs before resolution.
