Recent heavy rainfall—making September 2026 the wettest on record in São Paulo—has produced persistent cloud cover and elevated soil moisture that limit daytime heating. Official forecasts from sources such as the Met Office and regional models indicate a maximum of 25–26 °C on September 19 under mostly cloudy skies with light easterly flow and a modest chance of showers. Historical September highs average near 25–26 °C, so the narrow market edge for 26–27 °C reflects trader focus on possible afternoon clearing or localized urban heat effects that could push readings one degree higher. Resolution hinges on the official INMET station maximum, where even small differences in timing of any breaks in cloud cover can shift the outcome between the two leading bins.
