Persistent warm and humid conditions, driven by southerly flow and elevated dew points near 75–79°F, are keeping overnight lows elevated across the Houston area on September 13. Official National Weather Service guidance and multiple forecast models converge on a minimum temperature in the upper 70s, aligning with the 91% market-implied probability for 78–79°F. This reflects typical mid-September climatology for the region, where the absence of a strong cold front or significant cloud cover and rain prevents substantial radiational cooling. A realistic scenario that could shift the outcome lower would require unexpected widespread nocturnal rainfall or a sharper wind shift, though current model consensus assigns low odds to such developments before dawn.
