The tight contest in Montarville reflects the broader provincial deadlock between the incumbent Coalition Avenir Québec and the Parti Québécois, with recent 338Canada and Qc125 projections showing the riding as a narrow toss-up or slight CAQ edge. Incumbent Nathalie Roy seeks a fifth term under the CAQ banner, facing PQ challenger Jean-François Cloutier, Liberal Mathieu Lavoie, and Québec solidaire’s Ginette Langlois in a riding where voter priorities on housing, the economy, and sovereignty continue to shift support between the top two parties. The October 5 election date and September 17 nomination deadline leave room for late campaign developments or turnout patterns to widen the gap among contenders.
