**Taschereau’s National Assembly race remains fluid ahead of the October 5 vote, with Québec solidaire incumbent Étienne Grandmont facing new or recently finalized challengers from the PQ, PLQ, CAQ, and PCQ.** Recent internal PQ turmoil—marked by the brief, controversial selection of Montreal-based Vincent Marissal followed by his exclusion and replacement with local urbanism expert Christian Savard—has injected uncertainty into the riding’s dynamics. Provincial polling volatility, driven by U.S. tariff concerns and shifting support among francophone voters, has kept overall party standings close, while local factors such as housing, mobility, and environmental priorities in central Quebec City sustain a competitive field. Traders appear to price elevated uncertainty around candidate consolidation and last-minute campaign developments that could consolidate or fragment support among the leading options.
