In the Sergipe Senate race for 2026, Brazil's first-past-the-post system for one of two seats leaves a fragmented field of over ten pre-candidates from parties including União Brasil, Republicanos, MDB, PT, PL, and PDT. Recent August polls show multiple contenders clustered within a few points, with André Moura, Delegado André David, Eduardo Amorim, Rogério Carvalho, and Rodrigo Valadares among those trading near the top. Party conventions concluded in early August, formalizing candidacies without producing a clear frontrunner. Traders price the outcome near even across leading names because no candidate has consolidated regional bases or secured decisive endorsements, while undecided voters and potential alliances could still shift momentum before October voting.
