Gubernatorial elections are currently scheduled to be held in Baja California on June 6, 2027. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Baja California gubernatorial elections. Any interim or caretaker Governor will not qualify. If the results are not known definitively by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Baja California and Mexico, including the Electoral Institute of Baja California and the National Electoral Institute of Mexico.**Baja California’s 2027 gubernatorial contest remains wide open more than ten months before the June 6 vote, with trader odds reflecting a fragmented field and no dominant frontrunner.** Morena, the state’s dominant party, is conducting an internal selection among at least nine aspirants; recent preference surveys show Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz leading with roughly 29-31 percent support inside the movement, ahead of Alfredo Álvarez Cárdenas and several others. Opposition parties have yet to consolidate behind single nominees, while independent and smaller-party candidacies further dilute the vote. The absence of major scandals, definitive endorsements, or decisive primary results has kept probabilities clustered in the low-to-mid 30s or below for the named contenders and near 50 percent for “Other.” Upcoming Morena internal polling, candidate registration deadlines, and early campaign positioning are the developments most likely to produce separation among the leaders.
