The positioning reflects the May 2026 party split, when Harvie removed four councillors including Kruger from the Achieving for Delta slate, prompting the formation of One Delta and a direct challenge focused on infrastructure, economic development, core services, fiscal accountability, and Metro Vancouver governance reform. Kruger has since signed the Metro Vancouver Accountability Charter and highlighted issues such as the Massey Tunnel replacement, while Harvie emphasizes his record of service and continuity in seeking a third term. With nominations closing September 11 and the October 17 election approaching, trader consensus incorporates the competitive dynamics of the three main slates and the limited polling visibility for additional independents.
