Current National Weather Service and model guidance points to a highest temperature in San Francisco on September 8 likely falling in the upper 70s to low 80s, driven by persistent onshore flow and a moderating marine layer that limits inland heat advection. Ensemble spreads reflect typical late-summer variability in the Bay Area, where subtle shifts in wind direction or boundary-layer mixing can add or subtract several degrees from the daily maximum. Historical September highs average near 70°F, but recent drier patterns have supported modest warming relative to early-month conditions. Traders appear to price in this forecast range while acknowledging model divergence on exact peak timing and any late-day clearing. Updated NWS briefings and morning model runs will provide the next resolution-relevant data points.
