Traders see nearly even odds between a high of 68°F or above and 49°F or below for Seattle on September 25, driven by divergent ensemble forecasts from the National Weather Service showing wide temperature spreads. Late-September variability stems from the position of the jet stream and Pacific high-pressure systems, which can steer warmer subtropical air northward or allow cooler marine intrusions and northerly flow. Current observational data indicate transitional fall conditions with fluctuating cloud cover and sea-surface temperatures that amplify sensitivity to small steering changes. Historical climatology places typical highs near 65–70°F, yet model disagreement on ridge versus trough dominance keeps outcomes balanced ahead of updated runs expected in the next 24–48 hours.
