Eva Lindberg holds a commanding position in trader consensus for the next chair of Region Gävleborg's regional board, reflecting her prior service in that role from 2015 to 2022 and current status as Social Democrat second deputy chair. Regional elections scheduled for September 13, 2026, will determine the composition of the regional council and subsequent leadership selection. Traders appear to price in expectations of a shift favoring the Social Democrats, who currently hold the largest bloc of seats, positioning Lindberg as the party's presumptive nominee based on established internal processes and her institutional experience. Incumbent Patrik Stenvard and other listed candidates trail significantly. Scenarios that could alter the outcome include unexpected shifts in post-election coalition negotiations, changes in party nominations ahead of the vote, or late developments affecting seat distributions among Moderates, Sverigedemokraterna, and smaller parties.
