This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the William P. Hobby Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 30 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Forecast consensus from the National Weather Service and multiple models points to an overnight low in the upper 70s for Houston on August 30, driven by mostly clear skies under a lingering subtropical ridge.** This setup allows moderate radiational cooling overnight, though persistent Gulf moisture and high dew points (near 70–73°F) limit how far temperatures can fall, keeping the daily minimum well above seasonal averages for early fall. Recent conditions reinforce this: August 29 featured highs near 96°F with heat indices over 105°F and only isolated afternoon convection, setting up a similar pattern for the 30th with highs in the mid-90s and minimal overnight wind. Sea-breeze circulation and urban heat island effects in the Houston metro further moderate cooling rates compared to rural areas. The closely matched probabilities across the 72–83°F bins reflect model uncertainty in exact cloud cover, timing of any sea-breeze or weak frontal influences, and localized variations in humidity that can shift the minimum by a few degrees. Warmer outcomes (80–88°F+) gain support if afternoon heating lingers longer or if increased moisture traps heat, while cooler bins remain possible only with unexpected clearer, drier air. Official NHC/NOAA guidance and short-range model runs will be the key updates traders watch as the calendar day begins.
