This value fell slightly below the 1991-2020 climatological normal of 86°F amid partly cloudy conditions, light southerly winds, and no significant precipitation that limited afternoon heating. Model guidance issued the prior day had projected highs near 85-89°F, but actual boundary-layer moisture and cloud cover suppressed temperatures by a couple of degrees. Only a late revision to station data or use of an alternate airport sensor could realistically shift the outcome outside this narrow range before final certification.
