This market will resolve according to the candidate who receives the most valid votes from Washtenaw County in the Democratic Primary for United States Senator from Michigan, which is scheduled to be held on August 4, 2026. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If the Washtenaw County results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to “Other.” This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Michigan, including the Office of the Secretary of State and the government of Washtenaw County. The Michigan Democratic primary for the open U.S. Senate seat features a tight contest between progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who resides in Ann Arbor, and moderate Rep. Haley Stevens, following state Sen. Mallory McMorrow’s suspension in early July. Statewide polling since the exit shows Stevens holding a modest lead around 48-41, reflecting establishment backing and substantial outside spending, yet Washtenaw County’s progressive-leaning electorate—home to the University of Michigan—creates local counterpressure favoring El-Sayed’s grassroots appeal and recent high-profile endorsements such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s. The 50-50 market pricing on several outcomes captures uncertainty over how McMorrow voters will split, turnout patterns in this liberal stronghold, and the effects of heavy advertising. Late developments including additional endorsements, final debate contrasts, or shifts in local mobilization could widen margins before the August 4 vote.
