Matt Orlando holds a 99.3% implied probability in the 2026 Chandler mayoral market due to his decisive victory in the July 21 primary election, where he secured 58.46% of the vote against Jeff Weninger. The nonpartisan contest replaced term-limited Mayor Kevin Hartke, and only two candidates qualified, eliminating any need for a November runoff. Orlando, a longtime city councilmember and retired Air Force colonel, benefited from voter preference for continuity in city governance amid low turnout. Weninger, a state representative who resigned his seat to run, conceded shortly after results were clear. Official certification by Maricopa County and the city council in August has further solidified the outcome. Late legal challenges or tabulation disputes remain theoretically possible but lack credible basis given the 17-point margin and completed canvassing process.
